Outils pour une comparaison sans a priori entre arithmétique logarithmique et arithmétique flottante
Cet article présente une bibliothèque d'opérateurs arithmétiques paramétrés pour la manipulation sur FPGA de nombres à grande dynamique. Elle supporte indifféremment les représentations en virgule flottante ou logarithmique. Outre son intérêt intrinsèque, cette bibliothèque permet l'évaluation des qualités comparées des deux systèmes arithmétiques au cas par cas des applications. Elle est sans a priori au sens où elle a vocation à refléter l'état de l'art dans chacune des deux arithmétiques.
This paper describes a library of parameterized arithmetic operators for manipulating high-dynamic numbers on FPGA. It support both floating-point and logarithmic representations. Along with its direct interest, that library allow application-specific comparisons of those two number representation systems. It is unbiased in the sense that it tends to reflect the state-of-the-art for both number arithmetic systems.
